Tornado producing storm was located over Center Point or near Gardendale, moving northeast at 45 mph.

Hazardous Weather Outlook

 

Threats for Tonight, Possible Tornadoes, Damaging Winds and Hail

The National Weather Service Birmingham alerts us that “there is a risk of severe thunderstorms from 7 pm tonight to 5 am Tuesday for locations near and northwest of Interstate 85. Threats include a few tornadoes, damaging winds up to 60 mph, and hail up to quarter size."

Since these storms could be during the overnight hours, please be sure to have your phone volume up. Also, have your app alerts turned on so they can wake you up.

What you need to know:

There is a level 2 out of 5 risk (slight) for northwest Central Alabama.

There is level 1 out of 5 risk (marginal) elsewhere.

The National Weather Service notes that the potential for the severe weather outlook tonight is based on their latest analysis and coordination. Also, the NWS believes that the “line of storms should begin to weaken as it approaches the southeast portions of Central Alabama early Tuesday morning.”
