Thomas Rhett and Kelsea Ballerini’s ‘Center Point Road’ Will Make You Nostalgic
Thomas Rhett's new album Center Point Road (due May 31) features Kelsea Ballerini on the title track, and he couldn't wait for fans to hear it, so he dropped it early.
"Hold on forever (Hold on forever) / Yeah, hold onto it (Hold onto it) / Yeah, hold on forever (Hold on forever) / And never let go of it / Everyone says when you’re younger / It’s gonna go fast / It suddenly hits you like thunder / And you’re gonna wanna go back/ Wanna go back/ Wanna go back / Wanna go back," the pair sing in the chorus of "Center Point Road," which dropped at midnight Friday (May 24).
The song will bring back nostalgic feelings from your high school days. The track has a heavier focus on the piano, something not common in country music's more upbeat hits. To bring back even more nostalgia, the beginning and end of the song feature the projector noise from an old movie playing.

Rhett co-wrote "Center Point Road" with Jesse Frasure, Amy Wadge and Cleve Wilson. Center Point Road is the first album on which Rhett co-wrote all of the (16!) songs, and he also co-produced the album alongside Dann Huff, Jesse Frasure and Julian Bunetta.
“If I could have a friend on every single song, I would probably do it,” Rhett admits, laughing. “Just because I feel like making music with your friends is so much more fun than doing it yourself.”
This isn't the only collaboration on Rhett's album — he also cut songs with Little Big Town (on "Don't Threaten Me With a Good Time") and Jon Pardi (on "Beer Can't Fix"). Rhett is currently on the road headlining his Very Hot Summer Tour through October featuring support from his father, Rhett Akins, Dustin Lynch and Russell Dickerson on select dates.
