As we approach Mother's Day, everyone's mind is on how to let mom know just how much she means to you. Get her flowers? Take her out to eat? How about just letting her hear a song?

A few months back, for no reason or holiday, I starting thinking about my mother. She lives in Mississippi and I live in Lakeview. We’re only an hour and a half apart but between work and life, we don’t see each other as often as we’d like. Yeah, we talk on the phone a couple times a week but nothing beats a face to face talk and a good old fashioned neck hug.

That day, as she was on my mind, I was reminded of my friend David St. Romain and a song he sent me one time. You may remember David from the reality singing competition ‘Nashville Star’. He finished third on the fifth season behind Zac Hacker and his sister, the eventual winner Angela Hacker. You might also remember him from his many visits to my afternoon show and events.

The song is called ’20 Years Late’ and is a beautiful, aural letter from a child to their mother saying, “I’m sorry”, “Thank you”, and “I love you”.

My mother did a great job raising my brother and me with the resources she had. We had our issues, like any children, but in the end turned out to be good people and most importantly the good people our momma raised.

I'm almost positive that my mom knows I love her but there have been times, as I was growing up she probably wondered. It never hurts to say it. If it may be hard for you, send her this link and make sure she listenes to it.

Wherever she may be this Mother’s Day, let mom hear this song. Whether you attach this video to her Facebook page, call her and play it, or even if you have to hold the radio up to the heavens, let you mom know how much she’s appreciated. Also remember, there may be other women in your life that had a hand in raising you as well. I owe a lot of who I am to my grandmother and realize there are aunts, big sisters, and even great grandmothers that may need some love on this special day.
