Dust off those dancing shoes, the Alabama Crimson Tide's women's basketball team has been invited to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 1999. The Crimson Tide were awarded a No. 7 seed on an at-large invitation and will face No. 10 seed North Carolina.

NCAA tournament rounds usually only have one day in between them and this will give the Tide, which hasn't been in the NCAA tournament since 2018, an opportunity to simulate a successful tournament weekend.

The Alabama men’s basketball team finished the regular season on a two-game losing streak, losing at home to Vanderbilt and on the road to Missouri. Alabama is locked into the ninth seed of next week’s SEC tournament and will play the eighth seeded Tennessee Vols in the second round on Thursday at noon. The winner of that matchup will have to play the top-seeded Kentucky Wildcats on Friday at noon. Alabama’s only path to making the NCAA Tournament at this point is win the SEC Tournament.

Alabama advanced to the second round to face No. 1 seed Villanova on Saturday.

Freshmen Collin Sexton and John Petty combined for 45 points to give the Alabama Men’s Basketball its picks up first NCAA Tournament win since 2006.

Alabama men’s basketball spent its first full day in Pittsburgh putting the finishing touches on its game plan for Thursday’s matchup with Virginia Tech in the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.

NCAA ticket requests will be taken until Monday, March 12 at 5 p.m. CT. All ticket requests will be confirmed by Tuesday, March 13 after 5 p.m. CT via e-mail.

Will Alabama have to be one of those teams that earns its way into the Big Dance by winning its conference tournament or has the Tide done enough in the regular season to receive an at-large bid?

Only five games remain in the regular season for Alabama and the team will look to solidify its position in the NCAA Tournament and earn the program's first invite in six years.
