Gene Morris, a retired Air Force Colonel, was considered the greatest spear hunter ever to walk the Earth... according to himself. He was so proud of his talents that he opened up the Spear Hunting Museum in Summerdale, Alabama.

Morris claims to have switched from guns to spears in 1968 out of sheer boredom. Since he began his hobby, he's killed over 500 animals -two at once on occasion -using only a spear as a weapon.

The Spear Hunting Museum offers a wide variety of creatures killed by Morris over the years including cougars, bears, goats, turkeys, zebras, ostriches, and much more. Morris even gave lectures and spear-throwing lessons in this gallery until his death on November 28th, 2011.

Morris died doing what he loved the most, spear hunting. But his memory lives on through his exhibit which is still open today.
