Some local BBQ joints made the 2013 Southern Living 'Cue Awards!

Southern Living announces the “Best Rib-Stickin’ Joints” as ranked by voters:

1. Fiery Ron’s Home Team BBQ, Charleston, SC – Aaron Siegel breaks all the old-school BBQ rules at this juke joint-inspired hangout. When it comes to ribs, he’s a purist: red oak, a simple dry rub, no basting, no sauce.

2. Southern Soul Barbeque, St. Simons Island, GA – Come for the salt- and sugar-cured ribs, smoked rotisserie-style and glazed with pan drippings, and righteous hoppin’ John.

3. Sam’s BBQ1, Marietta, GA – These lightly lacquered baby backs pretty much own Atlanta.

4. Big Bob Gibson Bar-B-Q, Decatur, AL – St. Louis-cut spareribs are the perfect marriage of meat, spice and hickory smoke.

5. Corky’s Ribs & BBQ, Memphis, TN – This East Memphis landmark dishes up everything from barbecue nachos and tamales to sides of spaghetti.
