Tuscaloosa Library to Spotlight Author Sonny Brewer

The Tuscaloosa Public Library announced a special Local Author Spotlight event in a press release sent to Townsquare Media.

The event will feature acclaimed Alabama writer Sonny Brewer, best known for his celebrated novel The Poet of Tolstoy Park.

According to the press release, the event will take place on Tuesday, September 25, 2025, at 5:30pm at the Main Branch of the Tuscaloosa Public Library.  Readers and community members are invited to join us for an engaging evening of storytelling, conversation, and connection with one of Alabama's most beloved voices in literature.

"We are thrilled to welcome Sonny Brewer to our library, and we are incredibly grateful to the people who worked so generously to make this possible," said Jennifer Pearson, Executive Director of the Tuscaloosa Public Library in the press release.

"Spotlighting local authors allows us to celebrate the rich literary culture of Alabama and provide our patrons with the chance to meet the creators whose words shape our sense of place and imagination."

The press release states that Brewer's work,  is deeply rooted in southern landscapes and filled with themes of memory, place, and identity, has earned him both regional and national recognition. This event will highlight his journey as a writer, offering insights into his craft and providing patrons with the opportunity to reflect on the power of stories in bringing communities together.

This is a free event  and it's open to the public.
