A single-vehicle accident in Sumter County killed one man and injured two others early Sunday morning, according to ALEA State Troopers.

Trooper Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in West Alabama, said the wreck took place around 4:30 Sunday morning on Pine Street, around 11 miles east of York Alabama.

King said a 22-year-old from nearby Bellamy was driving a 2019 Infiniti Q50 at a high rate of speed when the sedan left the road and struck a tree.

A passenger in the Infiniti, 24-year-old Rodney Deshaun McIntosh, was not wearing a seatbelt and was mortally injured in the wreck. King said McIntosh was pronounced dead on the scene when first responders arrived.
