Sarah Ross gained national attention when she auditioned for Season 12 of American Idol, and now she's back with a new single, "Not Broken."

The New Jersey native wowed Idol viewers and judges alike with her versatility. Keith Urban described Ross as being “like an iPod shuffle, never knowing what you’re gonna get.”

Since her time on the reality television competition, Ross has gone on to release an EP titled Calm Before The Storm in 2015 via Average Joes Entertainment. She continues to write for her forthcoming album, due out later this year.

Ross' most recent release is "Not Broken," an upbeat barn burner that has the singer lamenting after an ex has done her wrong. With hand-clapped rhythms, drum loops and soulful belting, this isn't your typical heartbreak song. Instead of falling apart, Ross finds herself rising above the hurt.

"Well it hit me hard but I've come this far and I'm not broken," she sings triumphantly on the chorus.

"I wrote 'Not Broken' about three years go with Preston Brust [of LoCash], Jared Sciullo [Phivestarr], and Rizzi Myers around the time I was coming up with material for my first EP," she explains to Taste of Country. "'Not Broken' didn't end up making the cut for that, but recently I just couldn't get the song out of my head, so we decided to bring it out and breathe some life into it. I'm glad we did and couldn't be happier with the final outcome. I'm excited to see how it does and how it's received in the lead up to a new album.”
