Ryan Hurd made the most of his time onstage during South by Southwest on Monday, March 13, giving fans and festival attendees a dose of country hip with a performance of "Love in a Bar."

Ryan took the stage at the Pandora at SXSW showcase for the heartfelt performance, captured above in a fan-shot video posted to Instagram. Sporting dark sunglasses and a white T-shirt, the edgy singer provides a contrast to many of the other male artists in country music today with the track, which takes on some of country's overriding themes in a fresh new way.

" ...Now we can't turn back / 'Cause the words came out and the truth can't lie / And we've been saying it with our eyes the whole time / That you have my whole heart / Yeah, we found love in a bar," Hurd sings in the chorus.

Taste of Country named Hurd one of our 5 Artists to See at SXSW 2017.

The singer-songwriter is an artist to watch in Nashville. He's already made a name as a songwriter, with songs recorded by artists including Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Jake Owen, Maren Morris (who is his girlfriend), Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line and more. Hurd celebrated his first No. 1 hit in 2015 with “Lonely Tonight,” which also scored Grammy and CMA Awards nominations after Shelton and Ashley Monroe recorded it in a duet.

The Chicago-born singer released a video for "Love in a Bar' in October of 2016, directed by Joseph Llanes. He's been out on the road with Thomas Rhett as part of Rhett's Home Team Tour along with Kelsea Ballerini and Russell Dickerson, and also joined his girlfriend Morris on her Hero Tour in 2017. Morris previously played at Spotify's SXSW showcase in 2016.

Hurd signed with Sony Music Nashville in January of 2017, and is currently at work on his debut album.
