
Alabama Radio Duo Honored at National Awards in NYC
A national radio awards ceremony recently took place in New York City and Tuscaloosa was well represented in the show as a featured honoree.
Radio professionals from stations all across the nation gathered in New York at the Edison Ballroom for the annual Marconi Awards. This ceremony honors radio stations and on-air personalities demonstrating outstanding achievement and service to their communities.
Tuscaloosa was represented at the show with a nomination for Small Market Personality of the Year. The Big Dawg DreDay with Comedian LP were finalists for the national honor and were up against stiff completion from across the nation.
The Marconi Awards are equivalent to the Grammy awards for recording artists. It's a pretty big deal!
"To be considered of a national radio awards is beyond belief. I'm thankful to not only my co-host Comedian LP, but the community who make our show what it is," said The Big Dawg DreDay.
Marconi finalists were selected by a committee of broadcasters, and the winners were determined by the NAB Marconi Radio Awards Selection Academy.

"Although we didn't come back with the trophy, it was an amazing experience being in the room with so many accomplished radio professionals. Making it this far is an amazing honor and LP and I are thankful to the NAB for the recognition and proud to represent Tuscaloosa and Alabama as a 2025 Marconi finalist."
Established in 1989 and named for inventor and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi, the NAB Marconi Radio Awards honor radio stations and on-air personalities demonstrating outstanding achievement and service to their communities.
The 2025 ceremony drew a standing-room-only crowd of broadcasters, executives and creators from across the industry, celebrating the enduring impact of radio.
