Over 1,500 Donors Unite to Support Eighth Annual Bama Blitz
During its Eighth Annual Bama Blitz, the University of Alabama raised almost $730,000 from 1,600+ gifts. The Crimson Countdown, the 2025 theme, encouraged alumni and friends throughout the country to donate by embracing the excitement of game shows.
The Giving Days campaign is a component of UA's Rising Tide 2.0 Capital Campaign, a $1.8 billion plan to improve athletics, facilities, faculty pension funds, and scholarships. The campaign has supported the development of more than 500,000 square feet of campus facilities and established almost 70 faculty endowments and 1,130 endowed scholarships, reaching 96% of its goal so far.
“This year’s Bama Blitz brought out the best of the UA spirit: quick action, big heart, and a shared purpose,” said UA President Stuart R. Bell.

Among the programs funded was the Military Service Member and Family Endowed Support Fund at UA's Office of Teaching Innovation and Digital Education, which collected over $9,000 from 109 gifts, a 31% increase from the previous year. The fund supports distant learning programs for students with military backgrounds.
“Crowdfunding campaigns like Bama Blitz give donors a unique window into students’ lives, deepening empathy and enabling direct impact,” said Associate Provost Robert Hayes.
