Saturday the University of Alabama will begin their 2020 campaign against the Missouri Tigers. Mac Jones has been announced as the starting quarterback, but all odds point in favor of seeing freshman quarterback Bryce Young play some snaps in the first game.

Young, who was selected as the 2019 High School Quarterback of the Year has looked impressive so far in camp. In a press conference on Monday, Mac Jones spoke on Bryce Young and how impressed he was with his progress.

"He comes out to practice every day and does what he is supposed to," Jones said. "As the starting quarterback looking down and seeing him do his job makes me feel comfortable that if he has to step into the game, he can do his job."

Coach Nick Saban has praised both of his quarterbacks throughout camp and spoke on their performance in the previous scrimmage.

“They were very good, very efficient and had good completion percentages," Saban said. "They threw for some big plays, made some explosive plays, and made some explosive plays in special situations. The offense was really good on third down, and that goes back to the quarterback and guys getting open.”

There are still three days before the season begins, but the question is what will it take to see Young in the game behind center? Only time will answer this question, but Alabama fans can look forward to having a freshman ready to go if and when his number is called this season.
