Alabama Shines with Two Towns Among the Gulf Coast’s Friendliest
Southern States are known for their warm hospitality and welcoming vibes. Often, neighbors feel like family, and local businesses know your name and your order.
This charming region also boasts the stunning beauty of the Gulf Coast. Sparkling waters, gorgeous beaches, and culture, you can’t help but feel the friendly spirit when visiting.
World Atlas has named the “8 Friendliest Little Towns on the Gulf Coast,” and two Alabama towns made the cut.
According to World Atlas, Destin, Rosemary Beach, and Venice in Florida were friendly. However, they named Bay St. Louis and Ocean Springs in Mississippi the friendliest, too. Also, Port Aransas, Texas, made the list.
Alabama’s Friendliest Little Towns on the Gulf Coast
Fairhope
“Fairhope's French Quarter is one of the most charming and unique districts on the coast, and the friendly community adds to its mystique,” said World Atlas. “This is the ideal location for taking in the best features of the South.
If you are in Fairhope, be sure to budget time for a classic Italian meal at Gambino’s Italian Grill. A great lunch spot is Panini Pete’s Café and Market. Both places are super friendly.

Foley
Foley, Alabama, is home to Lambert’s Café, and that place is pretty special and friendly, so I can see why World Atlas highlighted the restaurant. In addition to some of the best Southern comfort food, the “pass arounds” are top-notch. You don’t want to miss the Macaroni & Tomatoes and the Fried Okra, all served with a smile.
World Atlas said that the “town also exudes hometown charm, typical of many cities in Alabama, and is a quaint destination for many.”
