In the advertising industry, signs play a major role in the marketing aspect of things. We recognize the iconic yellow arches from Mcdonalds from anywhere in the world. That is a sign we have grown up understanding what it meant when we saw it. Signs from places like Burger King, Chic-Fil-A, and more also have been staples of good marketing plans gone right.

Companies at times use all kinds of mediums to advertise their business including social media pages like Wendy’s does with their X page. They always are using social media for fun interactions with other companies or to interact directly with customers. In 2017 we saw them and Hardee’s have some banter between one another on X which resulted in some press that I am sure made their advertising department happy.

There was a back and forth between Chic-Fil-A & Moe’s down in Mobile that resulted in some pretty funny advertising, according to Thrillist.

It started out with Chic-Fil-A launching the ads for the barbeque chicken sandwich. That prompted a response from a restaurant that happened to be across the street. Moe’s Original Barbeque noticed the ad and responded with a sign that read, " Chic-Fil-A, I thought we were friends. “

From there spawned a bunch of responses from each company that ended up including a strip club not far away from these restaurants. Diamond’s Exclusive Men’s Club was mentioned during this sign war, which made them respond to one of Moe’s signs that said they were with Diamond now. The club was seen advertising for Moe to “let her go.”

When it comes to ads, companies are surely to use whatever means they consider to be acceptable to promote more people walking into their businesses. This was one of those examples of the non-traditional forms of advertising but still an effective way to draw engagement.

Surely, those locals who saw this enjoyed these signs as they drove by walked in the restaurant.
