Mid-Week Marginal Risk of Severe Thunderstorms Across Parts of Alabama
A cold front is set to sweep through the state Wednesday night, bringing a quick-moving line of showers and storms.

The Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of Alabama under a “low end "marginal risk" (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms. This includes the Townsquare Media Coverage Area of Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Lamar, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, and Walker counties.
Potential Threats
Currently, the outlook calls for the possible threat of hail and gusty winds.
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said, “With little surface-based instability and weak dynamic support, the overall threat is low.”
The Townsquare Media Weather Center will continue to monitor this developing weather system.
