McFarland Boulevard to Close This Weekend

The Alabama Department of Transportation plans to continue construction work on Interstate 20/59 this week, and a portion of McFarland Boulevard will close beginning on Friday evening as the project work progresses.

ALDOT will close McFarland Boulevard in both directions from 10 p.m this Friday (December 6) through 5 a.m. Monday (December 9). Only the portion of McFarland that runs directly underneath the 20/59 bridge will be closed as crews work to place the new arch on the bridge.

ALDOT also plans to pave the eastbound on-ramp at Exit 73 on Tuesday, December 3, and Wednesday, December 4. Work will take place each day from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. daily.
