Ed Orgeron made his first trip back to SEC Media Days in a decade with the LSU Tigers on Monday.

The head coach met with the media in front of a full room in Hoover, and one of the topics he discussed was SEC West foe Alabama. The Crimson Tide has won three straight SEC Championships and six straight over the Tigers, and there's pressure to turn the series around against Nick Saban's team.

"Obviously there's a lot of people on our schedule that are very, very good football teams," Orgeron said. "So we can't just point to Alabama, but they're the benchmark. I understand that the head coach at LSU must beat Alabama. I think the way to beat Alabama is to recruit on their level. They are recruiting at a high level now, and they do a great job of evaluation."

LSU hasn't beaten the Crimson Tide since the 'Game of the Century' in 2011, but they've close a number of times. Last season, the Tigers entered the fourth quarter with a 0-0 tie in Baton Rouge but couldn't manage points and lost 10-0.

"Last year was a tight game. It was 0-0 going into the third quarter. Their quarterback made two plays. We didn't. I don't know if it's that big of a gap. I think we need to play our football."
