Liberated Lauren Alaina Empowers With Personal ‘Road Less Traveled’ Video
Lauren Alaina shows off self-empowerment in her "Road Less Traveled" video.
The former American Idol runner-up looks is at her best in a video that promotes body positivity. The screen flashes scenes of Alaina showered with bright lights as she sings and bounces along to the beat. Shots of young girls staring in the mirror who may need some encouragement intertwine with Alaina, and many times the country singer comes to their rescue.
"If you trust your rebel heart, ride it into battle / Don't be afraid, take the road less traveled / Wear out your boots and kick up the gravel / Don't be afraid, take the road less traveled on / Oh, ooh whoa, oh, ooh whoa / Take the road less traveled on," Alaina sings in the chorus.
In addition to a music video for "Road Less Traveled," Alaina will be starring in a featured film that gets its name from inspirational anthem. She will play the main role, Charlotte, a songwriter in Los Angeles trying to plan her pending wedding. When she struggles to find the perfect wedding dress, she hops on a plane back to her hometown of Harmony, Tenn., where she runs into her high school flame.
“I am so excited to be doing a movie,” Alaina tells Billboard. “This is a whole new world for me. I’m learning so much every day. We have such an awesome cast and crew and I can’t wait for everyone to see this new side of me.”
