The 12th annual Doctors' Day 10K Run will begin at 8 am Saturday morning in Sokol Park and will include a 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk and children's activities beginning at 9:30 am.

There will be goody bags with T-shirts and bunny ears for the first 100 registrants. Following the race they'll have breakfast, door prizes and an Easter egg hunt!

To give some background, while planning of the first Doctors’ Day Run, the medical community experienced the sudden loss of a young, beloved physician, Dr. Michael Poist. The Medical Alliance immediately decided that going forward, the run would be dedicated to his memory. Known for his commitment to his patients, his family, and his community, the run seemed to mirror the values of his life. Now, the Alliance honors the memory of Dr. Poist and other dedicated physicians who are no longer with us.

All proceeds from this event benefit local health-related projects and agencies like The Good Samaritan Clinic, The Boys and Girls Club, Turning Point, Eagles’ Wings, A Woman's Place, and two local soup bowl services. Our efforts also support our Adopt-A-School, Alberta Elementary and School of Performing Arts.

Registration is $20/person for 10K; $10/person or $25/family of three for Fun Run/Walk. You can sign up on-site before the race Saturday morning as pre-registration has already closed.
