“The Heart Walk is a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we come together,” said Jordan Morris, principal at Ward Scott Morris Architecture and 2025 Heart Walk chair.

“By supporting this year-round initiative, we’re not just raising funds—we’re equipping more people with lifesaving skills and making our community a stronger, healthier place. Our vision is for every home to be prepared to respond to a cardiac emergency, and we’re grateful to everyone who helps us take a big step toward that goal. Together, we can make a difference in our community’s heart health.”

Did You Know?

The West Alabama Heart Walk said that “9 out of 10 people who suffer cardiac arrest outside the hospital die. In most of those cases, bystander CPR was not performed. But we can change this.”

Organizers urge Alabamans to come together, take action, and make a difference. They aim to ensure that at least one person in every home feels confident and ready to perform CPR. The American Heart Association encourages you to take part in the Heart Walk, helping us transform bystanders into lifesavers.
