Tuscaloosa County Offering Free Trash Disposal at 12 Sites During Fall Clean-Up Saturday
Residents of Tuscaloosa County can drop off unwanted "throwaway" items free of charge at a dozen different collection sites when the Fall Clean-up returns this Saturday.
The event, sponsored by the Tuscaloosa County Commission, will see large Waste Management collection containers placed at 12 locations - three in each of the county's four districts. Each site will be manned.
From 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., folks can drop off any reasonable trash for collection. The only listed prohibitions are against professional contractors with work-related trash, household or kitchen garbage and hazardous waste.
Containers will be available for use at no charge at the following 12 locations.

- Camp Coker (13600 Highway 82 West)
- Camp Samantha (17504 Finnell Road)
- Montgomery Volunteer Fire Department (Highway 171)

The county commission is also encouraging individuals and community groups to participate in a countywide litter pick-up and is offering free bags, vests, and other equipment for that purpose. Those who want to learn more can contact the County Solid Waste Department at 205-464-8216.
Take advantage of the warm weather and the Crimson Tide's bye week on Saturday to clean up and drop off any trash at the sites listed above.
