Riverview Boat Ramp In Tuscaloosa Closing For Upgrades After Memorial Day
Boaters and anglers who navigate the Black Warrior River in Tuscaloosa should plan ahead — a popular ramp to get on the water is closing for more than a week starting just after Memorial Day.
The Alabama Department of Conservation and Natural Resources will close the Riverview Public Boat Ramp from Tuesday, May 26, through Friday, June 5, to prepare for the installation of a new access pier, which is expected to be completed later this year.

The Riverview Boat Landing is in Tuscaloosa, situated behind the Bluff at Waterworks Landing apartments on Jack Warner Parkway.
The closure is the latest phase of an ongoing renovation effort that has also included a new launching slab installed in 2024 and parking area paving completed by the City of Tuscaloosa in 2025.
The project to add the new pier is a joint effort between ADCNR and the city, funded through the Sport Fish Restoration Program, which draws from excise taxes on outboard motor fuel, fishing equipment sales and Alabama fishing license revenue. The project will also receive additional funding from Innovate Alabama, a statewide public-private partnership supporting business growth in the state.
There are other nearby boat ramps to access the Black Warrior at Holt Lake to the northeast or at the Oliver Dam Boat Ramp near downtown Tuscaloosa and Northport, but the Riverview Landing is the only public access to the William Bacon Oliver Pool.
