Police FInd Missing 23-Year-Old Northport Woman’s Body in Greene County, Suspect Arrested
Loved ones and investigators have located the remains of a Northport woman who has been missing since early this month, the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said Sunday.
Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the VCU, said 23-year-old Karen Hollis of Northport was reported as a missing person on May 8th.

Kennedy said after searching for several days, police began to suspect that foul play may have been involved in her disappearance, and they asked the VCU for help locating Hollis.
"The investigation has been a priority for both agencies. Multiple search warrants were executed, and a great deal of physical, witness, and electronic information was obtained. A person of interest was developed last week, but the victim still had not been located," Kennedy said. "On Saturday afternoon, family and friends located Karen Hollis’ remains while searching an area developed by the recovered electronic evidence."
Kennedy said her body was recovered in Greene County, which pulled its sheriff's office, coroner and district attorney's office into the case.
The person of interest, Randall Lendell Dejourney, has been charged with Abuse of a Corpse and placed in the Tuscaloosa County with a $15,000 cash bond.
"The investigation is ongoing, and more charges may be brought or upgraded once the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences Medical Examiner is able to report the cause and manner of death after autopsy," Kennedy said.
