Bailey said the vehicle left the road, struck a second tree and then overturned.

Troopers report Artis was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency personnel arrived.

The wreck took place around 7:15 p.m. Saturday on Wire Road 1 near Beaver Drive, which Troopers said is about a mile south of the town of Cuba in Sumter County.

No other information was available Monday.
