Heat Temps Continue to Rise in Parts of West Alabama

The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a "Heat Advisory" across West Alabama until 9 p.m. this Thursday. High temperatures are expected through Friday.
Heat indices for today will be between 105-110 degrees.
The "Heat Advisory" impacts the following counties: Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Chambers, Chilton, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Russell, Shelby, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, and Tuscaloosa
The National Weather Service in Birmingham expects this triple-digit heat wave to run through Friday.
What Areas Will Experience Severe Weather?
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that “a few strong storms could drop southward out of Tennessee this afternoon."
Spann indicated that these thunderstorms have a "marginal risk" for locations as far south as Birmingham. Additionally, Spann noted that the storms in Northeast Alabama could produce strong straight line winds
