A Cordova man has been arrested and charged with murder in the death of a 59-year-old Cordova woman, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency's State Bureau of Investigation special agents launched the investigation at approximately 5 p.m. Wednesday at the request of the Cordova Police Department, responding to a homicide in the 600 block of Beville Drive.

ALEA has since identified the victim as Sandra Moore, 59, of Cordova.

Investigators ultimately arrested Billy Wayne Reid, 65, also of Cordova, and charged him with murder. He was booked into the Walker County Jail.

The investigation remains ongoing. Cordova is in Walker County, approximately 55 miles northeast of Tuscaloosa.
