Brent Teenager Killed, 2 Hurt in Head-On Crash on Highway 216 in Tuscaloosa County
A 19-year-old Brent woman was killed Thursday night in a head-on crash on Alabama Highway 216 in Tuscaloosa County.
Carina V. Perez died at the scene of the wreck, which happened around 7 p.m. Thursday near the 24 mile marker, about two miles west of Lake View, according to troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.
Sergeant Reginal King, an ALEA spokesperson, said Perez was a passenger in a 2008 Chevrolet Express van that collided head-on with a 2005 Ram 2500 pickup, ALEA said.

The driver of the pickup, a 21-year-old from McCalla, and the driver of the van, a 24-year-old from Brent, were both injured and taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment.
ALEA said nothing further is available while its Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate.
