A Friday evening wreck left one man dead and injured a second man and a child, Alabama State Troopers have confirmed.

Trooper Brandon Bailey, a spokesperson for the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, said 40-year-old Anthony McCaa was driving a 2006 Nissan Altima Friday around 7 p.m. when he collided head-on with a 2019 Toyota Tacoma.

McCaa, an Aliceville man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The other driver and a 12-year-old passenger in the Toyota were both also hurt and hospitalized after the collision.

Bailey said the wreck took place on Pickens County Road 2 near Alabama 14 south of Aliceville.

He said neither driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

No further details were publicly available Saturday evening.
