Ice Causes 3 Vehicle Crash Involving 18-Wheeler On Hwy 69
As a winter storm makes its way across West Alabama Tuesday morning, we're getting reports of icy roadways and crashes.
We've received a report from Townsquare Media's Don Hartley of a 3-vehicle collision on Highway 69 in Hale County between Greensboro and Havana Junction. It's said that the area has been closed off and an 18-wheeler was involved.
"Roadway conditions may continue to deteriorate as the severe weather continues.," the ALEA said in an update on road conditions.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division has received reports of icy roadway conditions within the following counties.
• Tuscaloosa County – Ice is present on roadways and overpasses
• Bibb County – Ice is present on roadways and bridges throughout the county.
• Sumter County – Ice is present on roadways and overpasses
• Marengo County – Ice is present on roadways
• Hale County – Ice is present on roadways
ALEA Troopers will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates accordingly. Motorists are urged to use caution when traveling and stay weather aware.
