As a father of two, I know how expensive raising kids can be.

There are so many expenses when it comes to raising kids. Of course, we know about food, toys, and medical bills, but there is one expense that hits harder than expected and that is clothes.

It feels like children's clothes get more expensive by the day.

The infant clothes aren't that bad, but when you get into the toddler stage, it seems like clothes are growing too small daily.

For all parents in West Alabama who can relate to this, there is a shopping event with huge discounts on children's clothes that will aid the bank account.

The semi-annual Little Lambs Consignment Sale is back. According to a press release sent to our offices, the event will be held Mar. 2-4, 2023.

Held at the First United Methodist Church, 800 Greensboro Avenue, the sale features gently used infant and children’s spring/summer clothing and shoes, nursery items, toys, books, and accessories.

The Little Lambs sale began in 2002 and is a ministry of the First United Methodist Church Tuscaloosa. Proceeds from the sale benefit children’s ministries, mission projects and a community grant.

So if you're looking for more toys, or accessories for your child, this is the perfect time to take advantage of some deals.

The sale grows each year, with a record number of shoppers during recent sales. “The Little Lambs Consignment Sale is a great opportunity for parents, grandparents and friends to find deals on gently used clothing, toys, strollers, furniture and more,” said Julie Salter, co-chair of the Little Lambs committee. “While shoppers find amazing buys, a portion of the proceeds also help the FUMCT ministries with resources that benefit children of the church and our community.” The doors will open to the public on Thursday, March 2 at 6 p.m. for a preview sale, which offers shoppers a first chance at the items before the general public.

There is a $5 admission for the preview sale and no strollers are allowed that night. On Friday, March 3 from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. the sale will be open to the public with free admission. On Saturday, March 4 from 9 a.m. to noon the sale will include most items at half price. Church members and community volunteers facilitate the sale

Volunteer slots are still available, and volunteers are able to shop prior to the public sale.
