According to the press release, the special election will determine representation for the District 3 seat on the Tuscaloosa City Council.

City officials are encouraging voters to plan ahead by confirming their polling location and reviewing district information before Election Day. Resources, including a district map and additional election details, are available online through the city’s official elections website.

For those who may not be able to vote in person on Election Day, absentee voting options are also available. Information on how to request and submit an absentee ballot can be found through the same online resources.

While turnout for special elections can sometimes be lower than general elections, local officials stress the importance of participation in shaping decisions that directly impact neighborhoods and communities.

Election Day will run for a full 12 hours, giving voters multiple opportunities throughout the day to cast their ballots and take part in the local decision-making process.
