Hot and humid conditions will continue across West Alabama, though heat index values are expected to be just under advisory criteria; a moderate heat risk will continue across our area.

According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, heat indices will range between 100 and 105 today, Thursday, July 30. “This level of heat affects most individuals sensitive to heat, especially those without effective cooling and/or adequate hydration.”

Relief on the Way?

“Temperatures trend downward over the weekend with highs generally in the mid to upper 80s, which is well below average for the first part of August,” said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist.
