Greene County Community Events Focus on Wellness & Community Food Drive
Legacy Medical Training Center and Legacy Community Resource & Training Network are making a meaningful impact through their ongoing work in Greene County.
In September, they kicked off their first official Community Hypertension & Diabetes Support Group session. The free community event was open to adults aged 18 and older and provided a welcoming space for residents to learn about hypertension and diabetes prevention and management.
Kickoff to Wellness - Saturday, October 24
The mission continues with the organization's next Kickoff to Wellness event on Saturday, October 24, from 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. at the Legacy Medical Training Center, 117 Greensboro Street, Eutaw, AL 35462. This event will focus on “empowering individuals and families with the knowledge and tools needed to better manage their health, particularly hypertension and diabetes,” the press release said.

Community Food Drive - Wednesday, October 28
To help further their support of Eutaw and Greene County, they are hosting a FREE Community Food Drive in partnership with the West Alabama Food Bank. The event will be on Wednesday, October 28, from 10 a.m. until supplies run out, at the Carver Middle School Parking Lot.
The food drive will be a drive-thru distribution, and attendees will be asked to stay in their vehicles while volunteers bring the food to them.
Organizers said this initiative will help “continue addressing food insecurity and providing much-needed support to families throughout Greene County and surrounding communities.”
