SEC Standings – Week 9
Georgia and Tennessee pulled off major upsets last weekend, shaking up the SEC standings going into week nine. We've got a matchup between the top two teams in the SEC standings this weekend, so check out where all 16 teams stand heading into week nine!
1 - Texas A&M Aggies (6-1, 4-0)
The Texas A&M Aggies spent October 19 watching the chaos across college football but will return to action on October 26 at home against the No. 2 team in the SEC standings, the LSU Tigers, at 6:30 p.m. CT.
2 - LSU Tigers (6-1, 3-0)
The LSU Tigers took care of business in a rivalry game against the Arkansas Razorbacks, winning the Battle for the Boot 34-10. LSU faces a tough road test at Texas A&M in a rivalry game on October 26 at 6:30 p.m. CT.
3 - Georgia Bulldogs (6-1, 4-1)
The Georgia Bulldogs looked like the Georgia Bulldogs of old, drowning Texas with dominant defensive play 30-15. Georgia gets a bye week to prepare for a rivalry game with the Florida Gators on Nov. 2 at 2:30 p.m. CT.
4 - Tennessee Volunteers (6-1, 3-1)
Tennessee overcame poor offensive play in the first half against Alabama to defeat the Crimson Tide for the second time in three years, 24-17. Tennessee heads into a bye week to grow a new goalpost before hosting the Kentucky Wildcats on November 2.
5 - Missouri Tigers (6-1, 2-1)
The Missouri Tigers were on the ropes for three quarters against Auburn, but Brady Cook returned to lead Missouri to a 21-17 victory over Auburn. Missouri has a chance to get a big win this weekend at Alabama on Saturday, October 26, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
6 - Texas Longhorns (6-1, 2-1)
The Longhorns suffered their first blemish of the season, losing to the Georgia Bulldogs at home, 30-15. Texas will hit the road on Saturday heading to Nashville, Tennessee for a date with the Vanderbilt Commodores on October 26 at 3:15 p.m. CT.
7 - Vanderbilt Commodores (5-2, 2-1)
Vanderbilt survived a letdown spot at home against Ball State, 24-14. The Commodores have a chance to stake its claim as a new Vanderbilt football at home this week against the Texas Longhorns at 3:5 p.m. CT.
8 - Alabama Crimson Tide (5-2, 2-2)
The Crimson Tide suffered its second loss of the season in Knoxville, Tennessee, losing 24-17 to the Tennessee Volunteers. Alabama returns home to fend off the Missouri Tigers for homecoming at 2:30 p.m. CT on Saturday. Alabama has a bye week following the game against Missouri.
9 - Arkansas Razorbacks (4-3, 2-2)
The Arkansas Razorbacks fell at home to the LSU Tigers 34-10. The Razorbacks will hit the road this weekend to Starkville, Mississippi for a date with the Bulldogs at 11;45 a.m. CT.
10 - Florida Gators (4-3, 2-2)
The Florida Gators continued to survive this season, with a 48-20 victory over the Kentucky Wildcats. Florida has a bye week to prepare for the World's Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party with the Georgia Bulldogs.
11 - South Carolina Gamecocks (4-3, 2-3)
South Carolina put it all together, stomping the Oklahoma Sooners 35-9. South Carolina is heading into a bye week before November. 2 home date with the Texas A&M Aggies.
12 - Ole Miss Rebels (5-2, 1-2)
Ole Miss fell to LSU two weeks ago 29-26 in Baton Rouge. The Rebels had a bye week to recoup and try to salvage the season. They'll return to action this weekend at home with an 11:00 a.m. CT kickoff against the Oklahoma Sooners.
13 - Oklahoma Sooners (4-3, 1-3)
Oklahoma was thumped at home by South Carolina with a 35-9 defeat at home, which led to the Sooners firing their offensive coordinator. Oklahoma will head to Oxford, Mississippi on Oct. 26 for a date with the Ole Miss Rebels.
14 - Kentucky Wildcats (3-4, 1-4)
Kentucky was knocked down another peg by the Florida Gators, losing on the road 48-20. Kentuky returns home after the road trip to Gainesville to take on the Auburn Tigers on Oct. 26.
15 - Auburn Tigers (2-5, 0-4)
The Auburn Tigers blew a second half lead to the Missouri Tigers, losing 21-17 to the Tigers. Auburn will face their third straight road game this week, heading to the Bluegrass State to take on the Kentucky Wildcats on Oct. 26.
16 - Mississippi State Bulldogs (1-6, 0-4)
Mississippi State played Texas A&M tough at home, but ultimately fell to the Aggies 34-24. Mississippi State will have another home game this week, welcoming the Arkansas Razorbacks to Starkville, Mississippi on Oct. 26.
If the season ended today, the SEC Championship would be played between the Texas A&M Aggies and the LSU Tigers in Atlanta, Georgia.
