Karly Weathers and Jessica Timmons Earn SEC WBB Postseason Honors for Alabama
Alabama women’s basketball saw two of its veteran leaders recognized Tuesday as the Southeastern Conference announced its 2026 postseason awards.
Senior guard Karly Weathers was named the SEC Scholar-Athlete of the Year, while senior guard Jessica Timmons earned All-SEC Second Team honors following a strong regular season for the Crimson Tide.

Weathers becomes the first Alabama player in the last three seasons to earn the conference’s top academic honor and just the third in program history. A nursing major, she carries an impressive 3.99 GPA and will graduate this spring with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Her impact extends far beyond the classroom.
Weathers started all 30 regular-season games this year and leads the team in minutes played (33.8 per game). Entering the SEC Tournament, she averages 9.5 points while leading Alabama in rebounds (6.1), assists (3.3), and steals (1.6) per game; showcasing her all-around value on both ends of the floor.
She was also named to the 2026 SEC Community Service Team and has logged more than 360 clinical hours over the past two semesters. Weathers is a two-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-District selection and has been recognized multiple times on both the Dean’s and President’s Lists.
Meanwhile, Timmons powered Alabama’s offense throughout the season.
The senior finished the regular season as the Crimson Tide’s leading scorer, averaging 16.8 points per game. She recorded 25 double-figure scoring performances, including 10 games of 20 or more points.
Timmons strung together a 10-game double-digit scoring streak during SEC play from Jan. 8 through Feb. 15 and delivered a career-high 34-point performance at Florida on Feb. 22 (tied for the eighth-most points in a single game in program history).
She currently ranks inside the SEC’s top 10 in four individual statistical categories, including third in both free-throw percentage (85%) and three-point field goal percentage (43%). She also ranks eighth in three-pointers made (66) and 10th in scoring average.
The Crimson Tide closed the regular season with a 21-9 overall record and a 7-9 mark in SEC play as they now turn their focus to postseason competition.
With veteran leadership, offensive firepower, and academic excellence being recognized, Alabama enters the SEC Tournament with momentum and two seniors leaving a lasting legacy on the program.
