Alabama football has finally officially approved Kalen DeBoer's staff. It took longer than expected, with multiple coaches who were expected to be on staff taking other jobs elsewhere.

The details are beginning to come about about Kalen DeBoer and the rest of the football staff. According to Nick Kelly of Tuscaloosa News, Kalen DeBoer signed an eight-year deal, with $10 million in his first year. The deal will inflate to $11.757 by the final year of the contract.

DeBoer received a huge jump in salary from his reported $4.2 million from the University of Washington last season. He reportedly turned down a contract extension from the Huskies, who were offering double what he was making already - reportedly a $9.4 million deal according to Washington Athletic Director Troy Dannen.

DeBoer is the No. 4 highest-paid coach in the country, only behind Georgia's Kirby Smart, Clemson's Dabo Swinney, and Texas's Steve Sarkisian.

DeBoer turned down the offer for more money from the Crimson Tide and Greg Byrne. It's still less than Coach Saban was expected to make, who was supposed to make $11.5 million in 2024 before he retired.
