As he does every Wednesday of the season, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer joined Chris Stewart on the air during "Hey Coach" and "The Kalen DeBoer Show" ahead of Alabama's Saturday afternoon kickoff against the Mercer Bears.

Kalen DeBoer opened by saying he doesn't remember much about Alabama's win over LSU because he's already moved on, but wanted to say how proud he was of his team and their ability to focus and get better.

DeBoer also said his team continued to execute and developed the killer instinct.

"We're getting to the point now where when a play doesn't go our way...just that team football...We had a little bit of everything, but the main thing is we just executed play after play."

DeBoer said the Alabama defense has developed a mindset of "one yard is too many [to give up]." He also mentioned the offense doing a good job of not putting the defense in too many rough spots in terms of field position.

DeBoer said Jaeden Roberts, who left Alabama's win over LSU with an injury, could have returned to the game against LSU if Alabama needed him, and he should be ready to go on Saturday.

Jam Miller and Justice Haynes joined the program.

Justice Haynes mentioned Eddie Lacy as one of the running backs who left a lasting imprint on the University of Alabama and wanted his name to be up there with the greats.

Kalen DeBoer mentioned Bray Hubbard as one of the players who have stepped in in place of players who have suffered season-ending injuries, notably Keon Sabb.

He also mentioned some of the "wolf" players that will fill in for Que Robinson following his season-ending injury.

The final word from Kalen DeBoer:

DeBoer mentioned that you are only as good as your last game, and said Alabama needed to continue to take steps, learn from it, and build upon the strong performance last week against LSU.

Alabama and Mercer will kick off at 1:00 p.m. CT inside Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday, November 16. The game will be broadcast on ESPN + and the Alabama radio broadcast can be heard on Tide 100.9 and 95.3 The Bear.
