TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- President Donald Trump was originally intending to be in Tuscaloosa for Alabama's primetime matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs this Saturday, but with Tropical Storm Isaias likely developing into a hurricane before making landfall on the Alabama Gulf Coast and likely impacting the Tide's clash with the Bulldogs, those plans are in flux.

"A hurricane and football - I love Alabama, I've got to go to a game - it'd be awfully hard," the President told reporters on Wednesday. "If there's an emergency, if there's a hurricane, I don't want to do anything to take the focus of all of the great people that work those things.

"They have some tremendously great people. I don't want to take the focus off - So we'll have to see. I hadn't heard about a hurricane. A hurricane is going in the vicinity of Alabama? That's not good. Certainly, I'm going to let the hurricane determine. I want people to be safe," he said.

President Trump has attended two Alabama games in Bryant-Denny Stadium before. In 2019, as the sitting president, he attended Alabama's loss to LSU, and in 2024, as a presidential candidate, he attended Alabama's win over Georgia.

He also attended the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship when Alabama defeated Georgia.

No. 6 Alabama will host No. 2 Georgia on Saturday, October 10, inside Bryant-Denny Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:45 p.m. CT on ABC.
