"Tuscaloosa County Park & Recreation Authority (PARA) is proud to announce Iron & Ember Golf, opening later this year at the Jerry Pate Golf Center at Ol’ Colony," they said on social media.

According to the post on Facebook, the indoor golf experience will feature state-of-the-art Golfzon America simulators, a private boardroom for meetings & events, an upgraded VIP range, family-friendly lounges & even an outdoor firepit.

The Alabama men's golf team once used the space, but since their move to the palatial new facility on Jack Warner Parkway, PARA has been working to repurpose it for public use.

“This is a one-of-a-kind facility for Tuscaloosa,” PARA CEO Brian Davis said in a press release. “Whether you're hosting a meeting, working on your swing, or enjoying time with your family, Iron & Ember offers a space where people can connect, grow, and have fun — no matter the season.”

Currently, there is no exact date on an opening for the indoor golfing experience housed at Ol' Colony. When that information is released, we'll have all the details on the Tuscaloosa Thread.
