Hurts So Good: Why Bama’s QB Is A Dream Come True

Alabama Quarterback Jalen Hurts is a true freshman. A TRUE FRESHMAN ... And he's kept the Tide atop college football from day one. Hurts has completed 139/223 passes (62.3%) for 1685 yards on the year. He's thrown 12 touchdowns and rushed for 10 more. Hurts has proven every week that he has the talent to take Bama to the top and stay there. But ... it's the freshman's composure, maturity and humble attitude that has impressed me the most.

Hurts has EVERY reason to be overly confident and gloat about his college career thus far, but he hasn't. He has EVERY reason to talk smack and get a rise out of his opponents, but he doesn't. He listens to his coaches, veteran teammates, and plays his role -- VERY WELL, I might add.

Following Bama's win over LSU, Heisman front-runner and Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson tweeted a compliment to the true freshman, "Jalen Hurts 100" ... Hurt's responded, "Nothing but respect for you LJ. Keep Balling 100".

Last week a young fan dressed as Hurts for Halloween and Hurt's twitter reaction was a simple "Roll Tide". It's safe to say, thus far, Hurts has been the epitome of what we expect and hope for from Alabama players ... ON and OFF the field.
