Hurricane Season Going Strong: What Alabamians Need to Know
Helene caused mind-blowing damage across many states. Many states are still dealing with the aftermath of Helene, including flooding issues, flash flooding, power outages, loss of property, and now the death toll is at 40. The complete impact of this intense hurricane remains uncertain, but it has the potential to be devastating.
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is monitoring an area where low pressure could form in the western Caribbean Sea.
The National Hurricane Center gives the “formation chance through 48 hours at 0 percent.” However, the “formation chance increases to 40 percent through 7 days.”
Favorable environmental conditions are anticipated to support further development as the system moves generally northwest. A tropical depression might form in the middle to the latter part of next week as the system enters the Gulf of Mexico.
