High Near 102 For Today September 17th
People across West Alabama can be caught asking the question, “will summer ever end?”  The answer is in two words, “NOT TODAY.”  Today you can expect sunny skies along with very HOT temperatures as the high will reach 102 degrees.  The heat index value could reach as high as 105 as well. There will also be calm winds today into the evening with mostly clear skies and a low around 73.  Tomorrow will be much of the same with continued sunshine and a high near 100.  We expect a 10 to 12-degree temperature drop for Thursday and Friday with not much chance of substantial rain.

Hurricane Humberto Update: predicted to become a category three hurricane today as it moves away from the U.S. and it is currently tracking to pass to the north of Bermuda on Thursday morning.  I predict that it will become a post-tropical storm by the weekend.

Western Gulf of Mexico Update: there is an unnamed disturbance moving into Texas today.  This system is thought to bring heavy rain to Texas with the concerns of flooding around Houston.

Eastern Tropical Atlantic Update: there is an area of concern that could have some future development at the peak of Hurricane Season.
