We have entered mid-July, and our typical southern summer weather pattern is in full swing. It’s a combination of scattered storms in the afternoon–evening timeframe, hot temperatures, and humid conditions, which lead to concerning heat indices.

Residents of West Alabama should prepare for concerning heat in the coming days. According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, the area will experience a "moderate to major heat risk" from today through the middle of next week.

“The combination of hot temperatures and increased relative humidity will lead to heat indices in the 100-105° range,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
Yes, it will be hot today. In West Alabama, the peak heat is expected during the timeframe between Noon and 3 p.m.
