Heat Advisory Update: Alabama Heat Index Could Reach 109 Degrees
The heat and humidity have been creating miserable conditions for many Americans.
To put in perspective how crazy temperatures have been, “Boston hit 102 degrees on Tuesday, which was a new all-time June record for the city dating to 1872,” said The Weather Channel.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a “Heat Advisory” because of the concern of heat indices reaching up to 109 °F.
The advisory continues through Thursday, June 26, at 7 p.m. for a large portion of Alabama.
These triple-digit heat values can cause uncomfortably hot and humid conditions. This poses a moderate to significant risk of heat-related impacts.
