High school football kicked off Thursday night with the Champions Challenge in Montgomery. The preseason #4-ranked Hillcrest Patriots proved they're in mid-season form with a 42-7 win over Demopolis. Alabama-commit Brian Robinson rushed for 55 yards and scored twice. Pat's quartertback Cole Frederick threw for three touchdowns in the win. The Patriots prepare for Oak Mountain next weekend in their home opener, August 26th.

Other games from Thursday night included Sipsey Valley falling to Winfield, 40-15. And Gordo gets by Fayette, 21-6 in the Green Wave's home opener.
