Gary Allan let his inner rockstar show during Saturday's (Aug. 6) WE Fest 2016 set. He waltzed onto the stage wearing a leather jacket, black T-shirt and ripped jeans to deliver a pretty rockin' performance.

The Detroit Lakes, Minn., crowd stood from start to finish, with a couple of diehard fans donning Allan shirts for the occasion. "Watching Airplanes" was the perfect first song, but his high energy level required him to remove his skull-encrusted leather outerwear before a sexier number, "Nothin' on But the Radio."

It was a WE Fest singalong when Allan sang his version of the Vertical Horizon original, "Best I Ever Had." The song was a hit for both genres, but Allan fans showed their appreciation for his version on Saturday night. For the most part, Allan kept the music going, rarely talking to his audience, but he did ask how they were feeling.

"You got lots of beautiful girls, it can't be that bad ... and cold beer!"

Allan played an electric guitar for a lot of his more upbeat songs, but slowed it down for "Tough Little Boys," "Life Ain't Always Beautiful" and "Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)." He also played his version of the Waylon Jennings original, "Her Man." The track was originally on Jennings' 1990 album The Eagle before Allan covered it himself in 1996 on his debut album Used Heart for Sale.

Fan favorites during Allan's set included his last two songs, "Songs About Rain" and "Right Where I Need to Be." During those it was hard to find a fan not singing along!
