‘Game of Thrones’ Finally Melts the Ice With New Season 7 Poster
We’re way out in the woods on Game of Thrones this year, lacking a summer premiere or any sense of how Season 7 will start wrapping up George R.R. Martin’s incomplete saga. Still, were there any doubt Fire would meet Ice this year, allow the first poster to make that point literally.
Entertainment Weekly shared a first look at the icy new key art, which features little more than flickers of flame dancing around the usual frozen motif. No premiere date beyond summer, of course, but we can certainly expect at least some news out of showrunners showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss (or the Stark sisters) from their presence as SXSW.
Elsewhere of Game of Thrones Season 7, a list of directors for the year has been announced along with rumors of some major set pieces and battles, while at least a portion of filming will take place in Iceland. Harry Potter star Jim Broadbent gave us surprising details of his “significant” role, while several notable returns have likely been revealed, along with an unexpected MLB cameo, and one recast.
We’ll hear more of Game of Thrones Season 7 in the coming week, but what other details might thaw out?
