Freeze Warning, Frost Advisory and Temp Rollercoaster in Alabama
The first day of the spring season is here, and I’m sure you have noticed the temperature difference from yesterday.
There will be a few days of colder-than-normal temperatures, and then the area will warm up into average spring-like weather.
From Thursday to Friday, temperatures are expected to change by 8 to 10 degrees. A similar temperature shift of 8 to 10 degrees is expected from Friday to Saturday.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Freeze Warning and Frost Advisory for portions of Alabama.
I always like to pass along my mother’s sage advice, “never put away your winter clothes or plant anything until after Easter.”

Actions You Should Take
Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.
Pipes should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly to prevent freezing and possible bursting.
Those with in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing.
