Four-Star Cornerback Officially Signs with Alabama
Four-star cornerback Earl Little Jr. signed his letter of intent to play for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide. The Florida native chose the Tide over Georgia, Florida, Clemson and Georgia Tech. He is ranked as the No. 12 cornerback and 11th in Florida and ranked 73rd nationally, according to 247Sports.
Little found time on the defensive back rotation during his freshman year and played on multiple special teams units. During his sophomore and junior seasons, he became a key player for the American Heritage Patriots that went 10-2 and made it to the playoffs and then became a cornerback starter for the Patriots that went 11-2 and won the 5A state title.
Football runs through Little's blood as his father was a defensive back. Earl Little played football at the University of Miami and went undrafted in the 1997 NFL Draft. He played in the NFL for nine years with the Saints, Packers and Browns.
Despite the coaching change, it was not enough to keep Little with the Hurricanes. The 6'0 prospect visited his father's alma mater back in June and last Tuesday with new Miami head coach Mario Cristobal. He officially committed and signed with the Tide this afternoon.
Little was recruited by running backs coach Robert Gillespie and cornerbacks coach Jay Valai. Little will participate in the All-American Bowl on Saturday, January 8 at noon on NBC in San Antonio, Texas. He will not be the only Tide commit there as QB Paul Tyson, TE Jaleel Skinner, and OT Elijah Pritchett will play in the game.
